For the ACT Reading test my strengths are being able to comprehend the hard reading which contain big vocabulary words that I never heard of before; I'm very good at understanding and breaking down a word. It is very easy for me to understand the moral of the story and know whats going on in the story. Having multiple choice answers makes things so much easier because I get to use process of elimination to get to a closer answer. Also in every problem it tell you what sections to check to get a hence of what the answer might be.
My weaknesses for the ACT Reading test are being able to remember what I read with out having to go back to the passage for every question. The story are very long passages to me and hard for me to get into it know that I have to read all that in a certain amount of time. I do not consider the timing good because I am very slow reader. If I was to try to read fast I would not understand the meaning of the story; I would not have a clue what I read. I also sometimes have to read things over just to be sure that I read it correctly. I am not very successful with getting through more than half of the test without just bubbling in anything. I know for a fact I will approve in on the reading portion of the ACT. I will practice my reading by reading something everyday for a good amount of time to improve my ability to having a higher score on the ACT.

ACT English Test Relection
As I was taking my English portion of the ACT Test I was able to use many strategies that I have been taught for the last few years. I believe the English portion of the test is one of the easiest parts due to the fact it is the beginning and you are able to stay focused. I know for a fact I was able to succeed through the first 30 questions; in the beginning of the test I am able to stay on task. My mind is on nothing but finishing in time. I at least want to get the beginning half of the test complete and correct; I know that I will finish it. I am good with using the strategies throughout the test and I believe the more strategies I know a better chance for me to get through the test with less hesitation.
I believe I have just as many weaknesses as I have strengths; I am not very good with staying focus for a long period of time. The English portion of the ACT is very boring but also very important and that is something I have to realize. Since I consider myself as a hard working student who is most likely to succeed and need to in order to be the person I should and want to be I know that I am going to approve with my weaknesses. I will approve by going to sleep on time to maintain my focus and studying much more with the things I struggle with the most.

The Illiad Characters Courageous Actions
In the Iliad each of the characters have their own courageous actions. Each of them were powerful and some how contribute to or was under some type of royal condition. Courage has been used in very useful ways that has caused some of the characters to kill, have heart, come to their senses, and have sympathy for those who grieve tears over a lost friend or family member. Courage is something that influences and bribes you to do things that fulfills your curiosity or that will give you regrets. For example Achilles was very devastated from the death of his friend which was caused by the Trojans so he decided to take action upon himself by giving the Trojans a visit. Achilles took action by fighting and killing the mightiest warrior of the Trojans named Hector to get revenge of his friends death. Achilles believe killing Hector was something that he had to do because it was a way to take out his anger and he felt that somebody had to pay for the cause of his friends death. Courage drove Achilles to to kill; it inspired him and gave him heart to step on the property of the Trojans and call somebody out to fight. It was very courageous of Achilles to step up for his friend; he was willing to risk his life to defend the death of his friend.
Hector's father the Priam was very brave to inter the premisses where Achilles was at knowing that he just had killed his son. He new that Achilles would have some type of remorse so Priam went to Achilles to bag for his sons body back because he believed that Achilles would be kind enough to spear it and come to his senses by understanding the pain that he was feeling. The same grieving that he did for his friend is the same grieving Priam is doing for his son and Priam believe that Achilles should be able to understand the pain that he is going through. He had guts to go to the man that killed his son. He was so desperate to get his son's body back that he bagged and plead to Achilles to show some sympathy cause he know the suffer that Priam is going through. Priam knew Achilles would understand because of his father and friend was dead just like his son was.
Hector also showed very courageous actions because he was very brave to fight for his people- the Trojans. He had heart enough to stand up to Achilles and fight him. He showed that he was a mighty warrior by courage and fighting not knowing if he would lose or win. He was willing to take the risk of giving his life away for his people. Achilles had the audacity to inter the land of the Trojans and call somebody out to fight.
He was brave even though there was many Trojans in the land he still had heart to fight. He showed courageous actions through out the whole book; he had heart and sympathy. Achilles was thoughtful and kind enough to give the Priam his son;s body back. These characters wee very courageous with all their actions. These are the reasons why I believe they are very courageous; these are the main things you need to have it; heart, braveness, and being able to do what ever it takes to fulfill your curiosity.

What Inspires Courage?
I believe there are a variety of things that inspires courage. Courage is when you are brave, not afraid, and willing to take a chance at something. The things that inspires courage is determination, influence, role models, being strong minded, curiosity, and people that are close to you. When you are determined to do something that you have been inspired to do it takes courage to do it. Determination inspires courage when you will strive and work your hardest to attain anything that determine you to. Once you have a mind set of achieving a goal that is important you are going to be brave and take a chance at it. You may also be influenced from a motivating speech, seeing someone else attain it, or maybe just trying something new on your on; no one is going to always be there for you so you are depending on yourself and giving yourself a motivating speech to accomplish your goal.
Being strong minded is very important and you have to be ready for the worst when you are expecting for the best because you have to be willing to try again if yo were to fail at something; being ready to try again and again show that your are very strong minded. Strong minded people intend to be brave enough to make good choices on there on. That is a risk they are willing to take because they have courage. Strong minded is very similar to being big headed as in you think you are the best at everything and you know that you can do anything you put your mind to; you give yourself motivation to be brave. You also try to motivate yourself out of curiosity. Curiosity will put in a situation to were you have to have courage in order to get out of it. Curiosity cause you to do something that you were curious to do which is very brave of you. You have to have heart to take risk and not be afraid to. Taking risk shows a big sign of courage because it shows that you are not afraid.
Having faith in your own choice of attempting something that involves you to have courage is important because it only reflect back on you and nobody else, so you have ready for the problem to be on you. These are the risk you take when it involves being brave. The people that you grow up around or hang around intend to to inspire you to have courage. They either will raise you to be ready for the world or be afraid of it. These are also the same people you may look up to so they are consider your role models who will inspire you to have courage.

What is Evil ?
Evil is a state of mind that influence people to do harm or destruction. Evil is bad, wrong, selfish, and a corruption. It comes in all forms, shapes and sizes, which is the devil. It will use anybody and everybody it could. Never judge a book by its cover because you don't know what it is about if you have not read it. Evil will take over your mind and soul if you allow it too. It have no sympathy for no one; it only think of itself; it is selfish. Evil will smile in your face everyday and you Will not even know it. It will not allow to live your life in peace; it will try its hardest to destroy your life, Evil will go as far as you let it. Evil will make yo turn on the ones you love over something that not even as important. All evil is cruel, black hearted, careless, virulent, malevolent, and reckless. Evil will get in your head and take you to a level of lying, steeling, and killing.
For example, money is a source of evil. people will kill for money, steel money, and lie for it. Money is so powerful because it is one thing everybody want and need. Money can be consider as evil because it takes you to a state of mind where you can harm the ones you care for. It will destroy your life because it becomes a selfish thing that you have to take from others because you feel like you have to have it. evil has no remorse for no one and it is the darkness and handedness of your heart.

Nanny was someone who didn’t really care about love or dreams. She crushed Janie dreams about true love and made them mean nothing to her. Nanny made her be with someone who would protect her. It didn’t matter if they loved each other or not. Janie always hated her grandmother for the way she was. She discovered that Nanny was wrong about love.
Pg. 93 “Ah loves dis freedom; sh –sh –sh! Don’t let nobody hear you say dat Janie.”
Janie feels much freer now that Jody is dead. She no longer is told what to do, say, or how to act in front of people. Janie has the freedom to do as she pleases. She don’t care who think she didn’t care about Jody long as she knows it.

Janie had to wake up every morning and go through the same process. She had to work in the store and sell things while others talked, drew colorful pictures, and laughed. Janie wasn't allowed to have fun in her life like her friends. There was not any excitement in her life.
Pg. 65" Nature makes caution. It's de strongest and onliest thing dat God ever made, so nature is wat keeps uh man off of uh red hot stove."
Nature is everything that comes natural. Caution is what gives awareness and warning to danger. I believe it is both that keeps a man off of a red hot stove. It is natural for you to discover that something is and is not meant to be touched. It is caution when you and you see or feel something is not right and you are given signals that it leads to danger.

Chapter One
"These sitters had been tongueless, earless, eyeless conveniences all day long."
The people on the porch had been bored and silent all day. They did not think to start conversation until Janie come back. No one had authority over them to tell them what to do. They felt confident and nothing could tell them right or wrong.
"Seeing the woman as she made them remember the envy they had stored up from other times. They made burning statements with questions, and killing tools out of laughs."
As Janie walked by people remember the kind of lady she use to be when she was around them. So they laughed and made jeer statements toward her about the way she came back looking. They all talked about her because they had no one to stop them from doing so. They did not have a mayor to lead or keep them under control, so they all had continued with their comments and laughter.

Comparing a Ship on Horizon to a Man's Dream
There is an effect of comparing a ship on a horizon to a Man's dream. A ship on a horizon is just a metaphor because a ship can never touch a horizon no matter how far it sail out. A horizon is like a line where the earth and sky look like it is meeting, but that is just because of the distance you are standing at. The horizon is compared to a man dream because it is saying he may see his dream ahead of him but he will never reach it no matter how hard he try to attain it. It is stating that neither are possible to do.

The Difference of Men and Women Dreams
There was a discussion in the first two paragraphs about the difference between men and women dreams. The first paragraph in the book discuss the men dream or wish. It talk about how a ship at a distance have every man's wish on board; as in every man have a wish to connect with but is not able to reach it. It also says that it come in in with a tide which is a big wave that pushes the ship against the shore. Men dreams are able to achieve but it take plenty of time to get there.
The second paragraph in the book discuss women dream. It says how women only want to remember what they want. They delete any bad memories or any other memory that they don't want to remember. Women do what their dream tell them to do because they believe in their dream

Dreams are Important to Self -Discovery
I believe dreams or dreaming is important to self -discovery for every one. Dreams can help people define who they really are or who they want to be. Some dreams can lead you to a better option of life because some dreamers follow the things that happen in their dreams. Dreams can influence people to save the world by telling that person he or she is a hero. That's what dreams are for; to motivate people and get their hopes high. People usually dream about things they want to do or things they want to be, and not everybody have someone around to help them out with their careers or what ever it is that they want to do in their future. I strongly think if there was no such thing as dreams plenty of people would be miserable, stressed out, and careless. Everybody have used their dream as an intimation to lead them in a better direction or choice.

There are many ways I can become healthy and fit. The best thing to do is eat right by eating only three times a day. Also it is okay to have a snack through out the day just in case I was to get hungry. I really could have a time schedule choosing what hours I should eat. It is best if I eat before seven thirty, so I will not be eating any time of the day. I will exercise daily to make sure I am not putting on any weight. also stretch so my body will not cramp up and become lazy.

Being a pediatrician seems like it will help me better my life by knowing I cure and take care of children. The passion I have for children is so strong and I do not think it can ever go away. Children really does brighten up my day.
In order for me to become a pediatrician there are many steps I have to process. to achieve my goal of being a pediatrician I need to complete school with good grades to be able to get into a good college. College is access to a better option for everything especially when you need to know about certain medicine. I also need to know about children and how to handle them. I would always have to have a positive attitude around children to be sure they are comfortable around me . I also need to stay active so I would be able to participate in activities with the children.

Huck Helping Jim Find Freedom
Even though Jim did not tell Huck his paps had died, Huck still tried to help him find freedom. I believe Huck was a true friend because of that. At that time Jim was being selfish and only thinking about himself; trying to be free. Later on Jim realize what he had done and apologize for it. Also he did not think Huck would care about his father's death because he would be abused by him. I strongly believe Huck should try to help Jim find freedom because that is what real friend do. Even though what Jim did was not right. Real friends try to find a way to make thing right and forgive. Two wrongs do not make a right. They both are in a deep situation already so it is best to stick together through the rest of their journey.

During The Emancipation Proclamation
During the Emancipation Proclamation there was plenty of hope that I might have a chance to be free.No one wanted to go to Union and participate in war. So they told slave owners they would free the slaves. Once I got free I went up to the Northern State. Up there may have been free, there still were laws and many differences between blacks and whites. I could not sit on the same side of the church, bus, or boat as the white. Not even my children or wife were allowed. We were still treated as if were slaves.
When the abolitionist came around; they rescued me and I'm sure a lot of other people. They really did me justice. They help us feel like if we were just important as white people were. Made me me feel comfortable for who I am.

After The Emancipation Proclamation
The Emancipation Proclamation declared the freedom of all slaves in the ten specific states where it would applied in the Confederate States of America that did not return to Union control by January 1, 1863. This was a law from Abraham Lincoln. It also was a power towards war. If no one came to the Union then there would be no slaves. I had found out about the Emancipaton Proclamation from the abolitionists who had knew about the law that no coloured person should be seized as a slave within the free states. The law was a good thing for me and all other slaves. It freed me and gave me freedom to a new world. I believe that the freedom to the blacks is becoming stronger and stronger every day. I pray for freedom to be established all over the world. Thank you to all who have helped discover liberty for my colored.
Before The Emancipation Proclamation
Hellow, I am Moses Grandy. I was born a slave in Camden County, North California in 1786. I was my mothers youngest child. At least eight of my brothers and sisters had been sold to other slave owners by my master Bill Grandy. My mother would hide us in the woods when we were getting ready to be sold. Other masters hired me, but I was still owned by Bill Grandy. Some masters provided me with plenty of food and clothing, but with most of my masters I had starved half to death.
In order to get something to eat I had to work extemely hard. Later through my life I married a slave owned by Enoch Sawyer. She was then sold to another slave owner and I never saw her again after that. He wouldn't even let me get close to her or touch her to say good bye, but I gave her the little money I had in the back of my pocket. Later in my life when I was able to earn enough money to buy my freedom three times. The first two times it was stolen from me. Once I was freed I was able to buy fredom for my wife and some of my relatives.
